Thinkin about a vasectomy. Are there any side effects .Im worried about loss of sex drive or? Any thing I guess, maybe more hair loss due to over production of testosterone since having it done. does that make sense? looking for answers from guys that had this done. do You regret at all? Im just a bit nervous about the thought of it all.

Phil replied: "i have a huge 12 inch penis. why would i want to get a vasectomy? i shall have many sons with huge 12 inch penis'"

Capt. M replied: "Yeah, I have a wopping 10 incher and I enjoy my sex. So yeah if you do dat you may lose your penis pal."

Harley Drive replied: "If the guy's hand slips and you hear a thud - don't look down!"

Barcode replied: "If you are the least bit apprehensive about having it done - then you are not completely convinced you should have it done - period!"

Toss that Yeyo and Run replied: "They told me that there was a small chance that I could have chronic pain in the nuts for the rest of my life. That didn't happen though. Procedure went fine and I recovered no problem. I don't regret it at all. I don't want a kids. I can't have a kid. It would just end up in a foster home because I can barely support myself. I also have two serious, genetic diseases that I wouldn't wish on anyone."

Peridot Green replied: "All the negative crap people tell you is urban legend. I had a vasectomy when I was 21. I have no children. I am now over 40. As you may know almost 50% of men over 40 have them. I hang with a lot of men that do not have or want children. We usually have them by the age of 25. I have yet to meet anyone with a so called "side effect". I do not even have a scar from it. As for the men bragging about their penis size. I bet most of them do not know what a vasectomy is."

Doctor Tony replied: "Despite the common view that vasectomy is completely safe and has no long-term side effects, several post-vasectomy surveys have confirmed that some men have persistent pain after vasectomy. These contemporary studies are published in peer reviewed medical journals and document this problem in a significant percentage of vasectomized men. While most men have trivial short-term pain, some men have pain that lasts a few months, and up to 15% of men still complain of testicular or other scrotal pain seven months after their vasectomy. (Leslie et al 2007) After one year, the incidence may decrease, but this has not been proven, and a study of two groups of men one year post-vasectomy and ten years post-vasectomy showed no difference in incidence. (Manikandan et al.) There are six post-vasectomy survey studies that document the incidence of persistent pain. Severe pain, affects on sexual function, or quality of life are reported in 2 to 6% of vasectomized men in these studies. Summaries are available below: 1) McMahon et al - 253 surveys sent, 172 responded, and 33% complained of chronic testicular pain. The time interval from vasectomy averaged 4 years and 5% of the men complained of pain during sex. One in sixty respondents regretted having the vasectomy due to chronic pain. 2) Choe/Kirkemo - 470 surveys sent, 182 responded, and 19% complained of pain. The time interval from vasectomy averaged 5 years and 2% of the men complained of pain that affected quality of life. Nine percent of the men were dissatisfied with their vasectomy. 3) Morris et al - 198 surveys sent, 101 responded, and 52% complained of some level of pain. The time interval from vasectomy averaged 3 to 4 years and 6% of men complained of pain severe enough to seek treatment. 4) Ahmed et al - 560 surveys sent, 396 responded, and 5% of men had pain that lasted longer than three months. For some of these men, the pain was severe enough to offer microsurgical denervation of the spermatic cord to treat the pain. 5) Manikandan et al - Surveyed two groups, A. Ten years after vasectomy and B. One year after vasectomy. In group A 460 surveys were sent, 182 responded and 14% had chronic pain. Four percent of the men rated their pain as greater than five on a scale of one to ten (VAS>5). In group 460 surveys were sent, 220 responded and 16% of men complained of pain. Six percent of these men rated the pain as greater than five on a scale of ten. 6) Leslie et al - 625 patients were approached, and 593 completed the preop survey, while 488 completed a postop survey seven months later and 15% of men reported chronic pain. Four percent of these men reported pain with sex and fourteen percent rated their pain as greater than five on a scale of ten (VAS>5 Some methodologic flaws could have affected these results which may also be subject to self-selection bias and response bias, however, the numbers are still concerning. If one assumes that ALL of the men who did not return the surveys had NO pain, the pooled incidence of persistent pain from the studies cited above would still be 289/3026 or about 10%. Most of these authors suggested that chronic pain after vasectomy be included in the vasectomy consent process. This recommendation has not been universally adopted. Chronic pain is the most common post-vasectomy outcome that can affect quality of life."

Side effects of testosterone? Basically me and my friend are having an argument. I take testosterone tablets at the gym. Normally when you take testosterone you get harsh side effects such as spots, acne, hair loss etc. I take very expensive tablets (£50 for 30 days instead of £10 for a month of the cheep stuff) which boast they have no side effects and still increases your testosterone naturally. This is because it's a herbal remedy, the product I use it the 3rd best seller in gym supplements in the world. Now...Taking testosterone changes your personality etc, all are reasons you take it, you get a higher sex drive a higher drive to get big meaning you will do a better work out and it makes you feel more pumped after the gym. These are all reasons for taking it. He's trying to say although it doesn't give you spots, acne, hair loss etc it still has side effects. He says the side effects are the changes to your personality. I say no, that's an effect of taking the tablets seeing as that's what I take them for (that's the primary effect). It has no side effect (secondary effect). His argument was that because increased testosterone can regulate the flight or flight response that makes it a side effect (he just chose a random effect from wikipedia). I say no, that's a primary effect of taking it, it's all a change to my personality which is the reason I take it. (changing your fight or flight isn't even a bad thing) Thanks is you answer this btw.

Alissa replied: "It kills your immune system and makes you more aggressive. That would be the 'personality changing' part."

john p replied: "Where are your testosterone levels at? Why you are ingesting exogenous testosterone.Your balls will shut down its own production of testosterone if you continue doing this.In TRT they use HCG with testosterone so that balls keep working,Do more research before using test."

Barcode replied: "Testosteronesideeffects: Testosterone prescriptions are most commonly written by doctors for men with testosterone deficiencies caused by andropause or other conditions. Testosterone is a hormone produced by the body and deficiencies cause symptoms such as decreased sex drive, fatigue and moodiness. These symptoms can be caused by other conditions and even when testing shows that testosterone levels are lower than normal, testosterone supplementation does not always alleviate the symptoms and may inhibit the body’s natural ability to produce testosterone. This is just one known side effect. Testosterone produced by the body causes muscles to grow and strength to increase. At one time, testosterone prescriptions were written commonly for many conditions. It was praised as a miracle drug. Weight lifters, body-builders and other professional athletes used testosterone and other anabolic steroids for years to enhance their ability and performance. When testosterone side effects became known doctors stopped prescribing it except in cases where the body’s ability to produce testosterone had been damaged by injury or disease and athletes could only obtain it illegally. Now, once again, a growing number of testosterone prescriptions are being written. Drug companies seeking FDA approval, use test groups to study the effectiveness and common side effects of drugs. In 19% of the patients in the original group for one of the testosterone gels, a prostrate disorder was reported and one developed prostrate cancer. Other testosterone side effects reported include acne, hair loss, depression, moodiness, swelling in the arms and legs, gynecomastia (breast growth in males), breast pain, high blood pressure, decreased libido and nervousness. Gynecomastia is said to occur frequently. The companies who make prescription testosterone warn that prolonged use can cause liver damage and cancer. They advise that some patients may develop sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is when a person stops breathing during sleep. They further advise doctors to continuously monitor patient’s testosterone levels, prostrate size and perform other follow-up tests. They advise patients to inform their doctors if they experience any of the listed testosterone side effects. Testosterone prescriptions and testosterone side effects is the subject of some debate among health care professionals and scientists, with the supporters maintaining that the positive effects outweigh the risks and the critics saying that there are other less hazardous options."

SuperVibrationalEscrow replied: "The herbal testosterone enhancers do practically nothing to increase your testosterone. Taking testosterone does NOT negatively impact your personality. Taking other androgenic steroids are the cause of roid rage, not testosterone. I have taken real testosterone for many years, over ten years. Not herbal supplements but the actual injectable T which was prescribed for me by a physician. I am a very mellow guy. My serum T level is on the high end of normal and there are no personality things going on, fight or flight, anger.. any of that nonsense. There are huge misunderstandings about testosterone because people aren't educated in the different kinds of androgenic steroids. So you guys are arguing about nothing. If you go to an endrocrinologist right now and get your T level checked.. it will be normal. There are no herbal supplements that actually do much at all to raise your testosterone production. Sorry. Real testosterone pills are almost never used any more because they totally fry the liver, and it doesn't take long. The pills you are taking are probably fairly safe, but not knowing what is in them, hard to say what it might be doing to your kidneys or liver. What I know for a certainty is even if it promotes a certain amount of testosterone increase, it isn't much. The reason is that when the body produces over a certain level of testosterone it begins to aromatize to estrogen and then you get gynecomastia and a bunch of other issues. Including polycythemia which can clot up your blood. I included a link about aromatization of testosterone into estrogen in case you think I am making up something. Anyway, no need for you and your friend to argue. Herbal supps are not testosterone and so you don't have to worry about any of it. Have a Dr. check your testosterone level and you will see what I say is right."

Angelina replied: "Very bad effect on your health.it's a slow poison.do not take it."

David replied: "I think you are both way off the rails here. The reason you are not getting any side effects from your expensive herbal tablets is simply that they are hardly increasing your testosterone level at all. You are wasting your money there. Most body builders take testosterone by injecting it, usually in the enanthate or cypionate form. This allows a gradual release over several days, so that twice weekly injections are sufficient. Because testosterone occurs naturally, the body is far more tolerant to it than to most anabolic steroids, and bodybuilders often inject 1000mg or even 2000mg per week. It is also considerably cheaper than most anabolic steroids, and usually just as effective unless you're going for broke in the elite class. However, it will always have side effects, just like any other anabolic steroid will. In the case of testosterone, these are: - Aromatisation into estrogen. This can cause gyno (= man boobs). The remedy is tamoxifen (= nolvadex) or anastrozole (= arimidex). The latter is expensive but highly effective. - Shrunken balls. This is because they are no longer producing your natural testosterone. The remedy is HCG (= human chorionic gonadotrophin), which stimulates the balls to resume producing their natural testosterone (which is of course in addition to that injected). - Hair loss, if susceptible to male pattern baldness. This is due to some of the testosterone becoming converted into dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. The remedy is finasteride tablets (= fincar or proscar). It's also possible to add loniten (= minoxidil) tablets with a diuretic such as furosemide. You need to be careful with this. So do some research, and make sure you're spending your money on the right stuff! The golden rule is "don't take anything until you have researched it". Hope that helps."

Vande Mataram replied: "I know for a fact that it makes guys more aggressive. My younger bro has really started to get into bodybuilding and his testosterone levels have skyrocketted along with the size of hs muscles. Believe me there are times when I am shit scared of him, all he has to do is to raise his voice slightly and I will walk away."

Anyone else here used testosterone booster supplements for body building purposes any side effects? I am a 21 year old male. Im in good shape and healthy. recently i purchased instone forza -T testosterone booster. I used it for 4 days and i started having a weird feeling in my heart. Sort of small poking. Anyone else expeirnced anything like this? the only side effects that i read about were acne and hair loss but nothing about your heart. Its a natural testostorone booster not steroids,

A&F & HCO Boi replied: "You are taking steroids, which contain the male hormone testosterone. I am afraid to say that loosing hair and acne are extremely minor to what steroids can do to the male's body. These steroids without a doctors consent or reccomendation can be damaging, they can cause breast growth, shrinking testacles/shrinking penis, weight gain/weight loss, bloodstream complications, and muscle loss, since you have been using this drug and feeling chest pain, I suggest you either see a doctor immediatley, or if the pain becomes alot worse then check into the emergency room."

Mr.Longrove replied: "You're better off leaving that stuff alone. Please tell me this - Why on earth would a healthy 21 year old male need a testosterone booster anyway???"

Brad M replied: "Hey mate, well i need you to be more specific..is it a natural T-booster or an actual steroid your using? and if steroid are you taking it orally or injecting? And what type? Tell me this and ill tell whats going on."

I have been prescribed testosterone cream for low sex drive. Does it work? Will it have any positive side effects like weight loss or increased muscle mass? My doctor said there are no negative side effects with short term use. Is this true? I am a post menopausal female and a breast cancer survivor, so I can’t take estrogen.

GillJay replied: "I used to have the implants and they didn't work. Give it a go though."

why do some vitamin supplements cause hair loss? some of the guys i work out with take supplements like testosterone boosters from gnc. ive read and heard they can cause hair loss as a side effect. why does this happen? and how could i stop it?

dmspartan2000 replied: "Testosterone boosters do not - in and of themselves - cause excessive hair loss. Unless you have a genetic disposition for baldness - which means unless one or both of your granddads was bald - you are not going to lose any more hair than is normal for you to do so."

Is stress a possible cause to loss of sexual desire? Recently I have been bombarded with not only schoolwork but also solving hectic prom problems. I did not masturbate for 2 weeks and when I tried, I didn't get the same feeling/pleasure. I tried watching porn (I'm legal age :P) and nothing. I don't get the same pleasure back. Is it low testosterone levels or long-term effects of stress?

Michael M replied: "Stress can do this. Things will work out and you will be back to your healthy self soon."

Tunde S replied: "loss of sexual apetite is one of the symptons of stress.you need to relax more and also eat healthly, have you got a girlfriend,go out and catch some fun, best of luck."

Sawyer replied: "Stress can definitely affect a guys performance. Find some stress relievers for now. You'll be right as rain once this prom is over."

zodiaccyber replied: "answer is yes."

Snake replied: "yes.Relax"

gazpacho replied: "I think you have self diagnosed the issue. Now that you know it is stress.. what are you going to do about it? One good answer is to exercise... .just drop all your thoughts in your gym bag for an hour or so and get sweaty instead of working up a cold sweat. You will be tripping over that b0ner soon enough."

HoolaWiz replied: "of course"

jeff replied: "yes, stress is one of the leading factor of weakness in bed."

Ways to Lower Testosterone Levels? Hi guys I'm 26 & mine are sky high & it's no joke. (I know this may sound like a blessing in disguise in relation to the notorious effects of levels being too low but it's not!) Generally I'm constantly horny I have to deal with it at least 3 times a day else I'm moody for no other reason, I never used to have that much chest/belly hair now I trim it. I'm just starting to exercise more which relieves stress & stimulates endorphins but it's not yet enough to counter my mood swings of aggresive feeling. But the main detremental effect high testosterone is having for me now is that somehow it converts to a chemical that causes male pattern baldness & I'm thinning out at the temples & this has to stop! It's a nightmare come true! I know green/white tea & apples contain something that counters this chemical as well as minoxidil (regaine hair loss ointment) But apart from getting enough sexual release & meditating to de-stress what else lowers testosterone? Does lots of weight lifting help? Are there any other things I can change in my diet? ps I'll be hella googling this as well but by asing here I may connect with others that may be able to relate & give me sound advice. No point telling me to live with the balding...by my own admission I've got a vain, shallow & self obsessed side to my nature which prob stems from being blessed with very nice looks & the thought of losing my hair kills me. Flame me if you like as I might expect some, but I'll just be looking at whatever new positive advice I might receive here. Thank you very much indeed. John Milton it really does, I've been told by my doctor & there's information on the net regarding it explaining the biological chemical process. Some say baldness has no cure but why are 'men' mostly so greatly affected?...seriously testosterone is the reason! Jenny by that do you mean take a cold shower? Sure, you wanna join me? lol x

Sir Jasper Jaspworth replied: "Alcohol actually lowers tesosterone .;_ylv=3?qid=20090615044848AA2R8Il"

jenny replied: "COLD WATER!!!"

John H replied: "im actually looking on how to higher levels of testosterone"

John Milton replied: "High testosterone whether real or imagined does not cause baldness. If you're worried about going bald, see a dermatologist."

D T P replied: "beer"

JOE B replied: "Sorry to hear you have this problem. as a last resort have the snip"

Danny replied: "start to play a agressive sport i have your exact same problem when i dont play rugby"

Anyone ever heard of being prescribed accutane and spironolatone at the same time? I'm on accutane but want to experience the androgen blocking effects of Spiro. Im a girl with too much testosterone ( hairy arms, loss of head hair ect.) Would it be possible to be on both at the same time?

M.D. Alison C replied: "yes! it is possible BUT it is not recommended.... year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss. the things that really worked for me was: 1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp; 2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation; 3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage; 4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three); 5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed or/and Provilluss (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!) Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important! It worked and still works for me! I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here and here It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss! good luck! not only my own personal experience + working as a family physician"
