Is it safe to use Acetaminophen, Aspirin, or Aleve while on Accutane? I have no Tylenol at the moment, but right now I have a dull headache and would like to take a pain reliever. Ms. Brilliant, if the drug were so dangerous then I don't think my physician would have prescribed it to me. But thanks for the warning.

beti book replied: "i think your question is posted wrong, in this section... the only anwer you´ll get is about alternative medicine... so take 6 belladona 6c and 6 arncia 6c every 4 hours one day and every 6 hours the next day. under the tongue. hope you´ll feel better soon"

Ta Dah! replied: "the possibilities are too great... call a pharmacist..."

brilliantly8tIndigosquirtAMVAVT replied: "Sweetie, get off that accutane now. I took it when it first came out, so did my son. We now both have rapid heartbeats, high blood pressure, severe allergies as in all your airways swelling shut and chronic sinus infections. That is just the beginning of the side effects. It strikes about 15 years after taking it. It is very dangerous. There are alternative ways to clear your skin. I've spoken with many people that have taken it and they are all, everyone of them having the same problems about 15 years down the road. It compromises your health. I try to warn everyone that I can not to take this dangerous drug."

Chitu replied: "Women who took low to moderate daily doses of aspirin had a reduced death rate, especially from heart disease, according to decades-long research. "

Naproxen[aleve] in the morning and acetaminophen PM at night? will it give me bad side effects? In the morning, around eight oclock, I took Aleve with naproxen sodium [220mg], and i was wondering if i could take Tylenol PM with acetaminophen right now [9:45 pm]. if i did, would there be bad side effects?

DrUnKeN_TiGeR replied: "As a nurse we usually give medications again after 4 hours you should be ok"

Elf replied: "You should be fine. I've been told to take naproxen and tylenol at the same time. Tylenol PM is just... acetaminophen with benadryl (Dyphenhydramine HCl). There are no known drug interactions."

Is Aleve more like acetaminophen or acetylsalicylic acid? I have arthritis plus extreme pain in one hip and would like to take something that will relieve these pains without taking prescription meds that affect organ functions such as liver enzymes.

leelee replied: "Ibuprofin. My son has stomach problems and can only take acetaminophen and he can't take Aleve for this reason. Call your pharmacist. They will give you some good advice. They usually have a better idea than the doctor as to what prescriptions react with what over the counter medications. Remember they have medical degrees too!"

MD2B replied: "It's Naproxen. It's a Profen so it's more related to ibuprofen than anything else."

Can you take acetaminophen (Tylenol) and naproxen sodium (Aleve) together? I'm sick. This morning I took one 220 mg tablet of naproxen sodium (Aleve) for my headache. The bottle says it lasts for twelve hours, it's been about five. I also have a bottle of DayQuil for my stuffy nose and my cough. My sinuses are begging for some relief from the congestion but before I take some of the DayQuil, I wanted to know that it's safe to take if the Aleve is still in effect. A dose of DayQuil contains 325 mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol). Is it safe to take acetaminophen and naproxen sodium together?

tr90814 replied: "No it all contains some of the same ingredients. It's called an overdose! ! ! Try a cold allergy product, which will relieve all systems."

sunshine97 replied: "Not really. In the mean time if you run a hot shower and sit in there with the door closed for 15 minutes or so the moist heat will help loosen up some of the nasal congestion so that you can breath a little more freely. If you keep your nasal passage moist it prevents everything from hardening and backing up on you. I have year round sinus problems so I know the feeling. You can also get some over the counter nasal saline to use. It is not medicated so you can use it as needed and that will also help keep your nasal passage moist. If you chose to use something medicated Afrin works great but only use it for a day or two. If you use it more then that you will become more congested then you are now. Your best bet is something for the discomfort. Advil Sinus and cold medication works well along with the saline for your nose and moist heat from a shower. Good luck."

sasha1966 replied: "Yes it is safe to take acetaminophen and naproxen together. In fact many times they are prescribed in an alternating schedule to control pain so people don't take too much of one or the other. They are two different types (or classes) of pain meds. Naproxen is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory (NSAID) and should not be combined with aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), or prescription NSAIDS like Celebrex or Mobic or Voltaren. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is NOT an NSAID and can be used in conjunction with NSAID therapy."

Aspirin, Ketoprofen (Orudis KT), Acetaminophen (Tylenol), or Naproxen (Aleve)? I was wondering which of these medications seems to work best with Knee injuries. I have used them all in the past for other issues, however, I have been using Ibuprofen for my knee. Unfortuntly I have taken it daily for so long (at least 15 years) I think I may have build up a tolerance to it, something I resently read was possable with OTC pain meds. I have been taking a prescription dose as of late and it is not helping nearly as much as it used to. I had knee surgery a few months ago and am still having a lot of aching pain (not sharp). I know that I should tell my doctor, I have. I am in physical therapy because of it. He suggested I try one of these. I really do not want to ask him for anything non-OTC since the pain is not so bad that I think I need something like that. I’m just tired of hurting. I was thinking of changing for a while and was wondering if anyone else has had success manageing joint pain with one of the other OTC medication. Well I just found out that Orudis is no longer available OTC, so strike that one from the list. Also, so I am clear, I have take opiate-based narcotics before, especially right after my surgery (try letting them cut into your knee and not take one). I just do not think that this pain is bad enough to merit the drawbacks (tiredness, possible addiction, etc).

heatishellinflorida replied: "If you have to work 8 hours a day, Hey the Firemen on TV say Aleve works. To me, I might as well ate a Tic Tac, never did a thing for me.Well if your stomach can handle it, I believe in my case aspirin is the best, it is anti-inflammatory and that is what you need. If you never took an opiate based narcotic, DON'T. Talk to your Doctor. Some are great, some don't know a thing."

♥ReNe♥ replied: "Tylenol would not be the best because it is just for basic pain and reducing fevers. I would try Aleve or Ketoprofen because they are both anti-inflammatories. ASA is also, but it really causes more trouble than it helps. I have used Aleve alot for arthritis related pains and it really helps me."

mistify replied: "There are different theories on the subject. First, in general, that anti-inflammatories are helpful for knee pain is probably true. However, some surgeons hold steadfast to the notion that these are actually inhibiting the recovery process because it is the inflammatory process that triggers healing. These surgeons would be much more apt to tell you to take Tylenol which is not an anti-inflammatory...it is merely an analegesic. I would ask your surgeon as some feel very strongly about this subject."

Is it ok to combine Tylenol (Acetaminophen), Advil (ibuprofen), Asprin ( acetylsalicylic), & Aleve (Naproxen)? When I have a really bad muscle or I'm just feeling bad I combine these to make a "super" pain killer. Is that okay?

nan replied: "No its too much pain reliever and whatever else they put in those pills. You could overdose by mixing them."

Carrie replied: "Sometimes a doctor may mix two of them, however it is bad for your liver because it filters out toxins, that is a little too much to give it at once."

ej replied: "Dumb idea. You'll cause scar tissue in your liver and hemmorages in your intestines. You shouldn't take these things anyways, they are not good for you. Read up on them before taking or combining them. They don't really relieve pain. They are co-enzyme inhibitors."

bouiver replied: "i would ask a doctor to see people cant really give you real advice we are not doctors mixing some pills are not good ask a nurse or a doctor good luck"

Summer replied: "You cannot take aspirin with any of those. You are not suppose to take Naproxen with anything else either. You can cause ulcers and liver dysfunction by combining the other two. But if you are going for "super pain" go ahead."

Thomas M replied: "Mixing Aspirin, Naproxen, and Ibuprofen is counter productive. They tend to reduce the effects of each other. It is also a good way to mess up your stomach, and liver, over time. You might want to research rebound headaches & rebound pain as well (essentially addiction to OTC pain killers). Taking so many pain killers suggests you may be on your way there if not already."

edstfu replied: "Severe pain ... It will take care of the pain , but youll get another type of pain and complications ... These meds contains Aspirin ... Ibuprofen ,Naproxen and Aspirin itself... Did your Ears ring after taking these pills at the same time Did you have a Heartburn after Taking em Are you coughing after taking these drugs Did you notice a Tarry colored stools .. Dont try to mix these drugs .. dude .."

Susan S replied: "If you don't want to keep your kidneys and liver! Stop that at once!"

gapsusie replied: "noooooooooooo"

jessnurse06 replied: "Umm no your liver and kidneys won't like it"

Liz replied: "Advil, aspirin, and Aleve should never be combined--they all do the same thing (reduce inflammation) and can cause stomach problems (ulcers). They can also cause kidney issues in high doses and especially in the elderly (naproxen is not recommended for people age 65+). However, if you want to alternate the appropriate doses (1 to 2 tablets or capsules) of Tylenol and Advil every 2 or 3 hours, this wouldn't be too dangerous, especially in the short-term. This is because they are eliminated from your body in different ways and therefore don't interact."

Is it OK to take aspirin and acetaminophen that the same time? I took two aleve's six hours ago and i still hurt. Can i take two tylenols now? The directions on the aleve say not to take more than two tablets in 8 - 12 hrs

I Have Parasites replied: "Yes, you can. You will be fine and dandy my good man."

ross replied: "Did you take aleve? - the instructions with that are 2 tabs twice a day. Tylenol, acetaminophen is ok with a NSAID which aleve is."

What is the best OTC pain reliever for a migraine? Currently having one and it is real hard to look at the screen :( I'm having sensitivity to light/sound and a throbbing pain on one side of my head...I have all the common pain relievers at my disposal, Naproxen Sodium (Aleve), Acetaminophen (Tylenol), Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), but I don't know which one is going to work the best...and I can't take Aspirin because of medication interaction. Opinions??

MARY S replied: "MOTRIN UND TYLENOL TOGETHER BUT THE VERY BEST IS PERCOCET by prescription"

Jared B replied: "Id have to say motrin"

king k replied: "excedrin back and body gets rid of all pain including headaches"

Reasy replied: "i have found advil liquid to be the best for migraine"

millie722 replied: "I like to use Aleve or Exedrine for migraines. Also, sometimes taking the medication with a little bit of caffein helps. Also, Ibuprofen 800mg is prescription strength so I would say that would be the maximum you would want to take. Try one of those options, without overmedicating, and lay down in a dark room. Try to sleep. I hope you feel better!"

PSUgirl replied: "I sympathize with you. I get migraines all the time. I use Excedrin migraine but since it contains aspirin i would count that one out for you. Tylenol would be my next pain reliever. Try drinking a cup of coffee with it. The caffeine will help constrict the blood vessels. Try a bag of ice on the side of your head and lay down in a dark cool room. This is what i use to get rid of mine. Hope you feel better soon!"

Chloe replied: "hello valium"

Jamie replied: "After suffering from many migraines, and even a trip to the ER, I got the best remedy from a pharmacist. She recommended to take 1 NO DOZE(caffeine pill) and 1 Aleve. The amount of caffeine in a no doze is more than coffee and soda. This is the best cure i have found yet, as my migraines will only last about 20 minutes if I take the medicine quickly!"

Mya 85 replied: "Excedrin Migraine usually works okay for me. Much better than Tylenol or Advil. I'm not sure if it has Aspirin in it though! I've used Motrin before I think it worked pretty well too, but for me Excedrin works best. Hope this helps!"

Mountain Girl replied: "Excedrin is best because of the caffeine boost it gives, but if you are sensitive to caffeine or do not take it, I would use 1 Aleve & 2 Ibuprofen. (I do not consume caffeine so that is what I take.)"

Susan Yarrawonga replied: "Taking Coenzyme Q10 every day is supposed to help for the prevention of migraines."

Why are our pharmaceutical corporations such a joke? In Pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and generic name.Example, the trade name is Tylenol and it's generic name is Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also call Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen. The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin. Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of "cocktails", "highballs" and just a good old fashioned "stiff drink". Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO. Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

Franz Karl replied: "thanks it was funny"

rabble rouser replied: "LOL... This is a funny take on a serious matter... I think if we vote democrat, the healthcare industry in general will have to wake up to some responsibility. PS - I love your new screen name... you are among friends."

First L replied: "That's the so-called good ol' USA for ya!"

Archer replied: "very funny..but I would not surprised if it all came true one day. Drug companies aren't dumb. They make most of their money inventing boutique drugs that can be a commercial hit (like Rogain) and have a mass market appeal (Viagra) but will not under any circumstances develop drugs for rare but deadly diseases...why?..not profitable enough. And if that's not bad enough they develop a medication then invent a disease (restless leg syndrome) that the drug can cure. Never mind that RLS could be a symptom of many basic illnesses like diabetes."

abenezerscroogexxx replied: "we have some of the finest pharmaceutical corporations in the world, and that is no joke."
