How effective is 10 mg. of Abilify combined with 60 mg. Cymbalta? I was taking just 5 mg. of Abilify with the Cymbalta with no results.

Duncan B replied: "There is no definitive answer to this. Everybody's brain chemistry is different, and no one combination works for everyone. Doubling Abilify may cause drastic improvements, but it may cause no perceivable difference at all. There is no way in knowing, for anybody, if it's going to work, unless you take a brain sample, and that's relatively inefficient. Try it. If it doesn't work, then try something else. I know it sounds redundant, but it's the only way."

TurnLeftKasey replied: "Hi, low doses of Abilify (such as 5 mg) act more like an anti-depressant. It hits on the serotonin receptors rather than the dopamine receptors. It really depends what your diagnosis is. If you are bipolar or schizophrenic/schizoaffective, I'd def recommend an increase on the Abilify. If you are using it as adjunctive treatment to help with depression, then I would not increase. I would most likely discontinue. And as for the Cymbalta: 60 mg is a therapeutic dose, I would not change that."

my dog ate 1 of my cymbalta pills 60 mg ,can it kill her? she weighs 18 lbs? she ate medication cymbalta 60 mg , other name of drug is duloxetine. she is small boston terrier and weighs 18 lbs . i am afraid it will hurt her plz help

People here might know if common over-the-counter stuff is dangerous (like aspirin, ibuprofen, pepto, etc) but no one here will know if that specific anti-depressant will harm your dog. The vet can give you instructions to induce vomiting if she's just ate it, that's probably the safest route. In general, assume all human medications are dangerous when administered to a dog unless your vet has specifically told you otherwise."

If she is vomiting or anything of the sort,take her to an emergency vet clinic,im positive it will have a negative effect on her. Kris replied: "For a dog that small I would go to the vet immediately. There is a reason why drugs like Cymbalta are prescription-only--they can be very harmful to someone who is not supposed to be taking them, and for an 18 lb. dog there is real danger of poisoning. Go to an emergency vet clinic, they can either get her to throw up or pump her stomach."

Is there any extra benefit between taking 120 mg of Cymbalta compared to 60 mg? I know there are no proven tests on this but does anyone have personal experience with it?

World... if a certain dose AIN'T working.... moving it to a HIGHER dose can SOMETIMES.... result in benefit.. or if ur @ 60.... sometimes switching to 120 CAN bring better benefits... BUT not always... I was on 60mgs of cymbalta was STILL depressed then we tried 120 mgs... BUT things did not improve.... Finally achieved some success w/ Prozac... Lithium.. & Buspare.... hope this helps my friend"

what happens to your body if u overdose on 60 mg cymbalta? taking 4 at one time

essentiallysolo replied: "taking four is not exactly an overdose, but it is foolish because it will play havoc with your neruochemicals, causing behavioral changes and things that you won't like. Don't be stupid, take your medication as ordered."

There are some severe side effects from Cymbalta, such as confusion or mental state changes, a rapid heart rate, an irregular heart rate, hallucinations, seizures and suicidal ideation. If your medication is not working well, contact your physician and let him/her know."

I have been on Seroquel 200mg and my doctor gave me Cymbalta 60 mg Bad reaction any info? Need some facts as I was in a car accident ,having some possible legal action against me , There were not warnings on the sample bottles given to me

Cymbalta - 20 mg verses 60 mg? I was taking 60 mg of Cymbalta for about 2 months and then got off of it. I felt it was too strong for me. My depression got better but the side effects was terrible confusion and I lacked mind retention. Since I am in training at my job I felt I should have all the brain power I could get. I got off of it without consulting my MD. But now I'm depressed again. I'd like to try it again at 20 mg. Any opinions?

nebit214 replied: "how long have you been of off it? When I quit (cold turkey) it took almost two months for the withdrawal to completely clear. A big part of the initial withdrawal symptoms is increased depression. If you haven't already, I'd encourage you to try therapy (and no, it doesn't have to be CBT, I've found other methods work far better for me) Therapy can help you get through the depression without drugs, and possibly for cheaper too. -Neb"

was on 60 mg to 90 mg of cymbalta when will i stared feeling better? was i 60 mg of cymbalta for awhile the doctor increased to 90mg been on that for a week 4/4/07. when will i start feeling better

lisa1cares replied: "everyone is different and reacts to meds differently. if its the right dose for you it should be around 2-4 weeks to see any change long to get a big benefit but that is if its the right dose for you and even if its the right med for you as these things are trial and error in finding one that works for each different person."

I was on Cymbalta 60 mg. since May 15,07 it started giving me diarehha so DR. cut it to 30 mg. that didnt? help,so he told me to just quit taking it. I seem to feel worse not being on itexcept the diarehha is gone. i read you shouldnt suddenly stop taking it because there could be side effects from stopping it. racer 51 replied: "most anti depressants cause either constipation or diarrhea. it doesn't matter what the dose is.i'm on celexa and i've found that if i take it in the afternoon ,instead of morning with coffee, the diarrhea doeasn't occur as often and is less severe. try that and find a new doc soon. i'd rather have a bit of stomach issues than go back to the way i was w/o my meds."

I had weened off of it and still the withdrawal symptoms were horrible and lasted a little over 2 weeks.
